Fall Fashion Portfolio

The cooler weather of the autumn months is rapidly approaching, and we need to rejuvenate our fall/winter wardrobes for the season. Our dilemma is to stay up to date with current fashion trends yet keep the garments we add as comfortable and functional as possible. Of course, we also need to invest wisely in the best pieces with the greatest impact. So we turn to the major knitwear designers and manufacturers along with haute-couture gurus who have handcrafted collections available also.

Danielle CowlDesign powerhouse Berroco has long been known for innovative, cutting-edge styling plus comfortable, practical pizzazz. Creative Director Norah Gaughan and her team of designers are on a winning streak this fall with so many gorgeous projects that it’s challenging to narrow down to just a few to feature. From the classic femininity of the Lustra Lexeme Cardi to the Chanel chic of the Listeme Cardigan, investment dressing is oh-so well represented. Plus their innovative versions of the double-breasted approach in the Peruvia Quick Morveau Jacket and the Pure Merino Potter Jacket are indeed standouts. Add the chunky hats and neckwear they’re featuring in the Sundae Jordan Hat and the Danielle Cowl, and you have a great package deal for keeping you up to date.

Cocoon Cheadle PulloverCelebrating 30 years of design excellence this year, Rowan and its stable of influential designers have outdone themselves with their classic and innovative collection. First off, inspired by colorist extraordinaire Kaffe Fassett’s chunky yarn, Sarah Hatton has created the stunning Colourscape Lilly Vest. Then classic simplicity never looked more breathtaking than in the Wool Cotton Windsor Jacket from internationally known Erika Knight. Next check out a totally modern version of a cabled sweater by Rowan star Marie Wallin – the Cocoon Cheadle Pullover with its volumized shoulder line too. To round off this spectacular quartet is the Kid Classic Cabled Cap right in line with the British influence and current headwear trends.

Como Cowl DressWhen considering the contributions by individual designers, knitwear aficionado Debbie Bliss comes immediately to mind, and her use of cabling and chunky knits is outstanding this fall. Her Cashmerino Trapeze Coat is fantastic with its beautiful detailing and superb drape and shaping. One peek at the Como Cowl Neck Dress is all it’ll take to inspire you to create this fantastic yet comfy outfit. Also we highly recommend the Luxury Tweed Cabled A-Line Coat for the ultimate in investment dressing for years to come.

Marilyn JacketWhen haute-couture styling is what you crave, then Twinkle Handknits designs from runway designer Wenlan Chia offer superb garments beautifully transforming the current trends in her own special ways. Innovative cabling is sensationally illustrated both in the delicate, lacy Kid Mohair Cabled Shrug and in the dramatic yet wearable Soft Chunky Voyageur Dress. Then bust out your inner disco diva in her Kid Mohair Belle du Jour Tunic, or go with a wonderfully updated classic in the Soft Chunky Marilyn Jacket.

Samina JacketAnd no other manufacturer is as well-respected for high-fashion pizzazz as Gedifra and Creative Director Karola Gottwald. The fall collection is filled with numerous garments incorporating the various trends, and to highlight just a few, take a look at Karola’s gorgeous version of a classic design in the Samina Peplum Jacket. Then chunky knitwear is excellently represented by the Diandra Cabled Jacket with its loose fit and wider shoulders and the cropped, simple Highland Alpaca Vest Jacket for a lovely wardrobe addition. Finally, to top things off so to speak, the funky Alpaca Crocheted Hat with Pompom is the chapeau piece de resistance for your hat collection this fall.
