GAUGE

Needle size and yarn weight will determine the gauge. Please read pattern notes below to determine the appropriate gauge for your project.

PATTERN NOTES

NOTE: The gauge of yarn and the needle size used will determine the finished size of the blanket, while the number of worked stitches and rows will always remain the same. For best results, knit a 30 stitch x 40 row swatch before you begin in order to calculate the finished size. Use the following formula to calculate your gauge:

Measure 4 inches of your swatch and count the stitches.

Divide this number by 4 to get your stitch-per-inch count.

Example: 17 stitches across 4 inches equals 4.25 stitches per inch.

Divide 136 stitches (total number of pattern stitches) by the stitches per inch.

Example: 136 divided by 4.25 equals 32.

The resulting number is your approximate finished measurement in inches. In this example, the finished blanket size would be 32 inches by 32 inches.
